CT Finder guide
Overview
What is the Clinical Trials Finder and why is it important?
SMA Europe’s new Clinical Trials Finder is directly connected to clinicaltrials.gov and is calibrated to only retrieve data associated with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, updating new data instantly. This means SMA Europe’s new platform is the go-to place for the SMA community.
We have also developed important personalisation features, ensuring that users not only get the most up-to-date information, but also customised searches based on their situation, filters to further refine, a secure user profile to save preferences, and a notifications platform which will automatically email any new trials that match profile settings.
It’s a big and powerful platform, so we felt a brief user guide would give a taster and assist new users in getting the best from the tool:
Customise your search
When you first visit you have the chance to personalise your searches based on your:
- Country
- Sex
- Age
- Study type
- Study status
This ‘filtered’ view will be saved if you return using the same device and browser.
You can skip this and jump straight in too.

Create a profile & get notifications!
We can’t save your preferences if change browsers or use a different device. We can if you create a user profile!
Simply register and you will receive a secure email to access the CT Finder with your preferences saved for you!
Be the first to know! Sign up to receiving email notifications on new clinical trials matching your profile settings!

The info you really need
We’ve carefully selected the information we regard as crucial from clinicaltrials.gov and designed to accommodate this data in an easy-to-follow layout.
We’ve implemented quick click functions for locations1 and contacts2 and added a ‘follow’3 feature, which will add the specific trial to your profile for easy access at all times!
Key info is detailed within the Participation Criteria4 / Study Design5 / Locations & Contacts6 sections.
